2010 Scrapbook...

The girls this year have been working with Justin's Hope Fund - All proceeds to benefit the Children’s Brain Tissue Tumor Consortium A collaboration of six major children's hospitals agreeing to share tissue samples to speed the scientific discoveries needed to cure this devastating disease of pediatric Brain Tumors. We were delivering pies at Justin's school, his sister, Katylin (wearing the blue shirt), went all around the school, as well as with others, and told everyone about the pies and her brother.

Abbie was able to get to the WINY studios again this year to talk about her and her sister's project and about Justin's Hope Fund too. Thank you once again to Gary O at WINY Radio 1350am. AJHKIDS_scrapbook2010

Several years ago, some little girls thought that they could start a business and make money for some presents for their friends and family. "After all", they thought, "the ingredients were free anyway." After that alarming discovery, their parents sat them down and talked about how a business really worked, with real costs and hard work and a lot of long hours. Undeterred, they kept going. They sat down with their mother and created a truly unique recipe for peppermint pies, a special recipe that still to this day, hold a caring place in their hearts.
